Our Eco-Friendly Technology/Sustainability

We at Freeway Agro Limited and small-holder  farmers are today betting on ecological agricultural techniques, using more environmentally friendly resources, focusing on food production as well as maintaining a balanced, sustainable ecosystem.

The Benefits of Biogas

Stored biogas can provide a clean, renewable, and reliable source of baseload power in place of coal or natural gas. Baseload power is consistently produced to meet minimum power demands; renewable baseload power can complement more intermittent renewables. Similar to natural gas, biogas can also be used as a source of peak power that can be rapidly ramped up. Using stored biogas limits the amount of methane released into the atmosphere and reduces dependence on fossil fuels. The reduction of methane emissions derived from tapping all the potential biogas in the Nigeria would be equal to the Road transport fuels in Nigeria. Approximately 90% of vehicles entering Nigeria are second-hand vehicles. Imported passenger cars are permitted to be up to 15 years old, and no age limits are applied to imported commercial vehicles. Based on a waste-to-wheels assessment, compressed natural gas derived from biogas reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 91 percent relative to petroleum gasoline.

AGRICULTURAL VALUE CHAIN

Over 80% of the rural poor in South-East, South-West and South-South depend on cassava as a main source of food, income, and employment. Cassava therefore has tremendous potential to improve the lives of low-income, rural farmers, processors, and their families and increase food security within the region. We are committed to ensuring the achievements of the UN Sustainable Developmental Goals by 2030. Freeway Agro Limited working together with small-holder farmers will put in a place a sustainable solutions program which will connect small-holder famers, processors and stakeholders in the Nigerian food value chain to collect and analyze data to make more sustainable input decisions. From health soil practices to organic food on dinner tables, from improving farmers incomes to ensuring fair labor practices. We seek to empower small-holders farmers across the nation.
